This morning I came across an intresting article that basically talked about the ins and outs of “Happiness.” It gave a wide range of different opinons, ideas and outlooks on what it meant to be truly happy. It also went into great details on the scientific side of Happiness. It states how Happiness depends on information that is constantly cycling throughout cortical and subcortical, conscious and subconscious brain systems.
It is said that you are able to reset your mind, from one of depression or despair to one of optimism, and genuinely a happy state. I love the idea of this, I do think that life throws every reason to dull our outlook, however, we can choose the ways in which we want to react. The ability to be happy really lies in our hands, it’s an element that we can control.
I have read quite a bit on this subject, and I do love hearing insights from all types, whether medically trained to speak on the subject or not, I feel everyone is qualified to join in this topic due to the fact that each of us are faced with the question daily.. are you happy.
Happiness is HUGE for me and for my life. I find myself to nearly be crippled with the slightest thought of being unhappy, being unfulfilled, or being in a stagnant state. I catch myself asking Miles nearly everyday, very randomly, “are you happy?” and for those who know Miles, you can guess his response. Sweet smile, followed by a huge hug. “very happy.” I don’t ever want the ones I love to be unhappy.
We have to wake up every morning and decide that we will look at the day, as one with many wonderful opportunities. The chance to expand our minds, see new things, make friends with strangers and do it with a smile! Find things that you are passionate about, this can take time and at times be hard.. but its SOOO worth it.
My personal definition of a day: an opportunity that has never happened, and will never again. Let it happen well. Here are some keys from the article that inspired this post:
1. find pleasure in everything – big and small2. discover meaning, whether it is through work, family or self
3. commit to and participate in your life. In the end, it’s up to you. Why not embrace it all?
I think this goes without saying, however I will still say it.. This is not in relation to anyone undergoing any sort of abuse in their life. The statistics of those who have lost the power and ability to remain in a healthy & happy mind state truly are victims and I would love nothing more than to help every single one of those people. It makes me ill thinking about scenarios that many are faced with day to day.

Interesting articles and findings on activities and ways to create happiness
Anyways I hope that was worth your read. I would love to hear any feedback that you may have, like I always say these are words that come out of my heart and my mind and they aren’t meant to be yours. If they resemble your thoughts, wonderful. If you believe the opposite, wonderful. Isn’t it lovely that we all have big beautiful minds?!

Exactly how I feel! I always say that we have a choice- of course some days are different than others, and this may not apply to every situation, but generally we can let things bug us, or we can focus on the magic happening around us instead. Having a love for life, a love for others, and love for myself feels much more yummy than being upset about something that probably isn’t worth being upset about in the first place.
Love your blog and love your message! So glad to find it and looking forward to reading more.
