This is the cover of the March 2012 issue of Surfing Magazine. I love this cover, it’s not your average cover. You see most covers will feature a single shot, most the time it’s a surfer in action. What really stands out to me is not the collage of photos but more simply the text. ”It’s not your travels that we love, it’s that you travel.” Perfectly put and I could not agree more. With that said get out there and travel, live and learn
Now a lot of times it is easier said than done. Many things can hold you back; schedule conflicts, children, and most commonly $$$. Let’s face it traveling cost money, but who says it has to be your money. Why not Surfing Magazine and Ripcurl’s money, they’ve got plenty right? Now is your chance to travel on the surf industries dime. Surfing Magazine and Ripcurl have brought back the Google Earth Challenge. A challenge where you search Google Earth for the best setup you can find, do some research, make sure no one has surfed it, best swell direction etc. Then go to the site below fill out the entry form and keep searching, find a better wave, and enter again. Repeat but no more than 5 times or you’ll get the boot. If your spot is chosen you will be taken to this spot to be the first one to surf it. Sounds easy enough right, especially if you are like me and have already been doing this for years and have countless markers labeled, “good wave.” If this interest you follow the link below and get started. Not interested, well then watch the video below and just see if it changes anything.
