A NEWport State of Mind

It’s been far too long.

I was just telling Miles, if our blog was a child.. we would have lost her to CPS due to neglect. Thankfully she is not a child, she is a website.. & she is still ours.

We RELOCATED! We are back to the land of Newport Beach, where we first laid eyes on each other & boy oh boy does it feel wonderful!

Making the trek from Northern California to Southern!

I was extrememly hesistant with my decision to return to Southern Ca. You may think I’m crazy, while it is an absolute privilege to live in Newport Beach, like anywhere it presents it’s “problems.”

Before leaving here last  November with Miles, I felt that I wasn’t living my life the way I wanted to. I had a job that didn’t allow much time away and friends who were anything but. I was in need of  something, somewhere that could offer something different for me.  I love our time away because it was just that. It was enough time to come back here with a sense of gratitude for the beauty and ease of life here. I gained so much perspective and realized that nowhere can really be all that you need it to be, your heart & mind must find a feeling of content in order to really enjoy life the way you should.

This time around is a completely different story. I am so excited to be back, the people who I have already reconnected with are absolute gems. There is always going to be good & bad with all things, including where you choose to live. I will not even touch on the “bad” in this case, there is just no need to waste your time or mine. The truth is Newport Beach is spectacular. It took a bit to experience & learn but Newport really is a unique place. It’s got a happening vibe that never seems to cease.. (except maybe this weekend when everyone is living it up at coachella ) You can ride your bike up and down the peninsula, seeing friends on just about every block, the beaches are unreal, surfers are out at all times, BEAR FLAG FISH CO ( if you don’t know.. now you know! ) and all around the town has such a sense of ease and beauty.

There is always something to do, people to see, places to eat and memories to make here in this town.

  1. Yay!! I’m so happy you are loving it! I love how positive you always are, and that you had a chance to dwell on the negative, but didn’t.. A lot of people use blogs as a way to bitch it out and I just get stressed reading them, but the posts from you both are always uplifting! :) Cabt wait to see Sunday funday pics!!!
